About the Steam Rally
The Lake Goldsmith Steam Preservation Association was established in the late 1950s, with a handful of remnant engines operating in a paddock nostalgically re-creating a bygone era. The Steam and Vintage Rally, now up to it's 125th iteration, never fails to impress with a large collection of home and visitor exhibits.
Lake Goldsmith is unique on the Australian Steam Rally scene in that it has permanent sheds owned by club members which house their magnificent toys.
There is a large collection of
- restored steam engines
- traction engines
- steam rollers
- internal combustion engines
- farm tractors and
- a restored farm cottage displaying old wares.
See the working 90 tonne steam shovel and working steam powered 'power' generating display.
Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally Location
An aerial perspective of the Lake Goldsmith steam rally complex showcases the association’s main building, boiler house, canteen, and meeting rooms.
Another remarkable feature of the site is the 46 individually operated engine sheds, each revealing private collections of diverse historic engines and machinery, symbolizing the pioneering spirit of our mechanical heritage.
Tree-lined exhibition enclosures draw in portable displays of historic agricultural machinery and the engines that once drove them.
